Deterioration of Frozen Semen of Bali Cattle after Cooling at 5°C

Frozen semen is produced through several stages, which deteriorate spermatozoa. This research aimed to evaluate the deterioration degree of frozen after 5 °C cooling and freezing Bali cattle. The samples included 10 male cattle with a body weight 542-668 kg, from was collected once week for five weeks. each individual’s sperm determined by observing two distinct straws. parameters observed viability, abnormalities, intact plasma membrane, acrosome cap. Initial observations were conducted following addition diluent A1 (AD) as much volume fresh semen. in AD group not cooled frozen. then divided into two, namely, those at 4 hours (PT1) 5°C 22 (PT2). results showed that individual variations caused significant differences viability membrane PT1 groups, while PT2 did differ Abnormalities significantly different between however abnormalities Intact acrosomal cap AD, PT1, groups. In conclusion, variations, including spermatozoa, better compared hours. A Cooling time can be recommended processing.
